Pure, Natural Ingredients

Did you know that the average bar of soap contains about 20 chemicals?

Your skin is the largest organ of your body, and since it’s porous, it absorbs whatever you put on it. Once a chemical passes through the superficial layers of your skin, it can be absorbed by your bloodstream and lymphatic system.

This is why at Sugar Creek Soaps, we make all our bars of soap using a combination of rigorously tested, pure, all-natural ingredients. Zero junk and no harsh chemicals. Each bar of soap comes with the ingredients listed on the package and we never test our products on animals. We are proud to make each and every bar of goat milk soap from start to finish, ensuring that only high-quality ingredients are used.

The 7 Essential Ingredients You’ll Find in Our Goat Milk Soap

#1 Goat’s Milk

The star of each and every bar is our goat milk soap. In fact, over 20% of every bar of goat milk soap consists of farm-fresh, raw goat’s milk. We never treat our goats with antibiotics, steroids, chemically laden food, or toxic goop of any sort. In fact, the milk we use, we often drink because it’s so nourishing! Goat’s milk contains alpha-hydroxy acids which attack the “glue” that binds dead skin cells together; revealing more youthful, supple skin in its place. The fatty acids and proteins of goat milk work with premium skincare oils and glycerin to moisturize and hydrate the skin.

#2 Organic Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is full of vitamin E and antioxidants! We love using coconut oil in our products because of its ability to lock in moisture without the use of petroleum-based ingredients or chemicals. It moisturizes, soothes, and fights the effects of aging while contributing to the amazing lather and hardness you’ll find in our bars of goat milk soap. Considered a superfood, this ingredient contains nutrients our bodies want and need. We source our organic coconut oil from sustainable producers in the Philippines and each batch is tested and held to the highest E.U. standards of Certified Organic purity, guaranteeing that no chemicals are used in the extraction or refining of our coconut oil.

#3 Olive Oil

The star of both the culinary and beauty world for centuries, olive oil is loaded with antioxidants and properties that leave your skin feeling smooth like butter. Olive oil gently removes makeup, dirt, and grime on the skin, and is known to soothe irritated skin.

#4 Castor Oil

Castor oil is an age-old beauty treatment that has largely been replaced over time by fancier, more chemically laden ingredients. This oil is famous for its anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, and antibacterial properties. It is rich in ricinoleic acid, which can help fight off acne-causing bacteria.

#5 Organic Palm Oil

Our palm oil is sustainably harvested from organic palm trees and rounds out our plant oil combination. It's packed with tocotrienols, a form of vitamin E with antioxidant properties. Palm oil helps harden each bar of goat milk soap that we make, and has important nourishing qualities that are great for your skin. It also contributes to that wonderful lather you’ll find in our soap. We love this oil for its multifaceted properties. Our organic palm oil is produced using high sustainability standards and is sourced from the first organic palm oil company to be certified sustainable by the Rainforest Alliance. Their operations meet and exceed the environmental, social, and economic criteria established by the Rainforest Alliance. Our palm oil is sustainably sourced by the Round Table on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), which means we only source our palm oil through companies that pledge not to clear any primary forest, limit planting on peatlands, treat workers fairly, and create wildlife zones.

#6 Sea Salt

Sea salt contains nearly the same concentration of minerals and trace elements as the human body. It is very mild and suitable for most sensitive skin types. Sea salt is a natural humectant, drawing moisture to the skin and helping to retain it, resulting in soft skin without your skin feeling greasy. Sea salt also helps harden the bar to make it last longer.

#7 Organic Honey or Cane Sugar

Sugar, honey, or maple syrup not only increases the effervescent in our soap, but it adds incredible antioxidants and antibacterial properties.

The Other Ingredients

Essential Oils

We only use 100% pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils to scent our bars of soap. No chemically engineered, synthetic fragrance oils here! Each bar of our soap contains up to 3% essential oils for added benefits to your skin and body.

Lye

Otherwise known as Sodium Hydroxide, Lye is added as a catalyst to saponify the oils and the goat milk. If you didn’t have lye, you’d have a liquidy mess, instead of hard bars of soap. This is a totally necessary ingredient in the making of real soap. Don’t be afraid of its name; lye completely dissipates and neutralizes with the oils and milk during production, so there is no lye left in the soap itself.

Clays, Food Purees, Natural colorants, Spices, etc.

Just because you’re skipping commercial chemically laden ingredients doesn’t mean soap has to be boring! We color our soaps with natural colorants that come from foods, spices, clays, and activated charcoal. We only use ingredients proven to be beneficial for the skin.

Quality is Key

While men and women across the globe have used soap for thousands of years, most modern-day "soap" you buy in the store isn't even considered a soap. It's important to read labels and become aware of what ingredients are in the skin care products we purchase, and how your body may react to them. There's no reason for your soap's ingredient list to be full of ten-syllable words you've never heard of before. Here at Sugar Creek Soaps, transparency, and high-quality ingredients are what drive us. To those who give our products a try, we hope you enjoy them as much as we do. It's our mission to make a product that is safe for your family, safe for the environment, and luxurious for your skin!
