Unlike conventional body lotions made mostly of water, lotion bars are solid at room temperature and are packaged much like a bar of soap. Because of the lack of water, the lotion is more concentrated and eliminates the need for adding preservatives since there is less of a chance of mold. Lotion bars remain solid until you apply them to your skin, at which point your body's heat melts the bar, giving it a slippery consistency that will glide effortlessly across your skin.

Awaken Lotion Bar
Using a lotion bar is quite easy. We find it works best applying it to skin right after a warm shower, but you can apply it any time of day. To use it, you want to start by placing the lotion bar in your hands to warm it up. Once it softens, you can either rub the bar directly onto your skin, or massage it between your hands and then apply.
Our lotion bars can be used all over the body, including your face, and are especially effective right after a warm shower when your skin is slightly damp (towel dried) and your pores are more open. This helps the lotion to penetrate more deeply into your skin and helps to lock in moisture.
To store your lotion bar, you can use a container with a lid, but we often place it on its own soap dish. The lotion bar will melt in the heat, so please store it at room temperature under 80 degrees.
Fun Tip: Once you're down to the last tiny bits of your lotion bar, you can add it into a hot bath or foot soak for an extra dose of skin-soothing hydrating.
